By Invitation · Coeur d’Alene, Idaho

Two days to decide what
the next year is actually for.

This one is a thank you. To the people who have supported me, invested alongside me, and helped build what BetterLife has become — this weekend is on us. The Couples Goal-Setting Retreat. Out of the daily noise, setting personal and business goals for the year ahead — with Brandon and Heather Turner, and a room of investors who take both halves of that seriously. Bring your spouse if you have one. Come solo if you don’t.

Why a Couples Retreat

Most investors set goals in a vacuum. Then wonder why the rest of life doesn’t follow.

You can hit every number on the spreadsheet and still end the year further from the life you were building toward. The doors, the units, the door count — none of it means much if you never sat down and got honest about what it was all supposed to buy you.

That’s what these two days are for. Not a seminar. A structured, guided process for working through personal and business goals — ideally with your spouse beside you, though it works just as well on your own — so you leave with a written plan for the year.

If you’re part of the BetterLife world, you’re invited.

This isn’t a public event. It’s for the people already building alongside us.

The Schedule

Four days. Three nights. One plan for the year ahead.

Dec 6Sunday · Arrival

Arrive, then get to work early if you want to.

  • Check in at The Coeur d’Alene Resort, any time Sunday.
  • Real Estate Mastermind that afternoon Optional — deal reviews and hot seats with the investors in the room. Come if you want it; skip it if you’d rather settle in.
  • Cocktail party that evening. Meet everyone before the real work starts.
Dec 7Monday · Day One

Couples goal-setting begins.

  • Guided sessions working through your personal goals — health, marriage, family, faith, the things that don’t show up on a P&L.
  • Quiet work blocks so you and your partner actually talk to each other, not just listen to a speaker. Attending solo? Same blocks, same questions, your own thinking time.
  • Group debriefs with couples who are further down the road than you are.
Dec 8Tuesday · Day Two

Business goals, then a farewell at our place.

  • Business goal-setting — portfolio targets, capital plan, and how the business serves the life you mapped out yesterday.
  • Write the plan. You leave with a year of goals on paper — and if you brought your partner, both of you signed off on it.
  • Farewell party that evening at Brandon and Heather’s home in Coeur d’Alene.
Dec 9Wednesday · Departure

Head home.

  • Check out and fly out Wednesday. No programming scheduled — sleep in.

Questions

Before you book.

Do I have to bring a spouse or partner?

No. The format is designed for couples and it’s genuinely better with your partner in the room — a lot of the value comes from the two of you working through it side by side. But plenty of the retreat is about family and personal goals that translate cleanly to one person, and solo attendees are welcome. You won’t be the only one.

Can we bring our kids?

Plenty of families bring kids and make a trip of it — Coeur d’Alene in December is worth the airfare on its own. But the sessions themselves are adults-only, and we do need to keep them that way so everyone can focus. Childcare is on you to arrange: the resort can suggest local options, or a service like Care.com works well for finding a sitter ahead of time.

What’s the dress code?

Comfortable. Jeans are fine for the sessions. The cocktail party and the farewell evening lean slightly dressier, but nobody is wearing a suit.

How many couples will be there?

We keep it intentionally small so the room stays a conversation rather than an audience. Seats go quickly once the room block opens.

Is the Sunday mastermind required?

No. It’s an optional afternoon for anyone who wants to work on their portfolio before the retreat begins. Plenty of couples skip it, check in, and meet everyone at the cocktail party instead.

What should we bring?

Whatever you use to think clearly — a notebook, your numbers from this year, and any goals you’ve been circling but haven’t written down. Everything else is provided.

What if we have to cancel?

Let us know as early as you can so we can offer your seat to another couple. Hotel cancellations are handled directly with The Coeur d’Alene Resort under their policy.
